What can we accomplish in a day?
On Friday, September 16, 2016, over 220 Pitt volunteers went out to 16 locations and worked on 23 projects in our community. Check back in the Fall of 2017 for project information and to register for the 2017 Day of Caring.
During the Day of Caring, University of Pittsburgh faculty, staff, and students have the opportunity to show how much they care by participating in one of the area's largest community service projects—the United Way's Annual Day of Caring.

Neighborhoods near the University including the Hill District, Point Breeze, Lawrenceville, as well as Oakland.
Every year spots fill quickly. Feel free to invite family, friends, and coworkers to join you in continuing Pitt's legacy of service.
All volunteers for the day will receive:
- Transportation to and from the work site,
- Lunch supplied by the host agency,
- Day of Caring T-shirt,
- All necessary tools and equipment for service, and
- The wonderful feeling of knowing you made a difference in your community.
